Let’s run through the laundry list of things that I can’t stand… people flaunting their personal lives to the world & putting up a huge facade pretending that they are living the ideal life – check, but overt irresponsible spending for the sake of imcrucial other humans with no regard for the amount of money wasted – check.
- Oh, & completely chilly indoor air thanks to artificial indoor cooling systems running at full blast? CHECK! Yes, all of my biggest pet peeves were fully present recently when I went to my second cousin’s big, expensive ceremony.
I already didn’t plan on going to the event, because frankly, my whole family is pretty cold, then however, when I was convinced to attend I never dreamed that the entire environment would be so cold, as well! I dressed appropriately for the sizzling summertime weather we were experiencing that weekend, pulling on a small dress that would be comfortable in the tepid & heavy outdoor air. When I arrived at the site, however, the indoor air temperature was anything but sizzling & humid. Instead, the apartment director had cranked up the central cooling system to level 11 & also brought in a series of large fans to improve air circulation. I don’t know what sort of tepid & covered in sweat event they thought they needed to cool, but they genuinely over-thought the A/C situation. I sat in my seat, rubbing my hands together & shivering throughout the entire 2 hour long ordeal. As if I wasn’t miserable enough about the expensive decorations & stereorespected ceremony, the 60 degree indoor air temperature genuinely made me tepid under the collar.
