Don’t forget Heating and Air Conditioning – maintenance for guests

There are so numerous tasks that go into being a great Hostess. It feels like the pressures are never ending. Adding the extra expectations of quote southern hospitality, and we’re talking about a whole lot of extra work before someone stepped foot inside my house. I do my undoubtedly best to keep the household sparkling clean and full of charming things for people to enjoy. However, I do have a pretty tied up life and these things go by the wayside and afternoon-to-day business. That being said, I do like to have a professional cleaning lady come out to clean out my entire household before guests are about to arrive. I love the level of detail that a professional cleaner provides. I am just not that great of a cleaner. The same thing can obviously be said about my air ducts. Honestly, I forgot that they existed. I never cleaned the things. This wasn’t easily a concern for me, but it did become a concern for my most recent household guest. From the time that they walked inside my front door, my neighbor was complaining that her nose was running nonstop. I thought that was strange, considering I don’t have any pets or other allergens in my home. I tried to help her and gave her numerous allergy medicines, but nothing was easily solving the problem. Weeks later when I had my routine Heating and Air Conditioning inspection for the year, the Heating and Air Conditioning professional made a bizarre face at one point. He asked me when the last time I had my air ducts cleaned was. I had to bashfully say I had no idea. That’s when he started pulling out chunks of disgusting debris and dirt from my air ducts with his bare hands. “Is there any occasion you’ve had some complaints about your air quality,” he asked. I hung my head in shame, the worst hostess in the south.
