My husband is constantly making fun of me for being so irrationally cold all the time.
I wish that I knew what my problem was, but all I can say is that I’m continually chilled, even when the surrounding air temperature is comfortable for my peers. My hands and feet are the worst of all because they actually get so cold that they go numb for extended periods of time, and I love sneaking up on my hubby and pressing my frigid extremities against his warm body. I’m always worried about bringing enough layers with me, and I obsess over making sure that we have proper heating implements at home. I always make sure we have enough firewood, blankets, and I keep several small space heaters on hand for emergency purposes. The only aspect of our home heating that I don’t cover is the furnace itself, and this is only because my husband insists on being in control of the HVAC maintenance schedule; he likes to handle our ventilation service, and I don’t mind letting him take a responsibility off of my plate. That is, until he fails to schedule our usual routine maintenance before winter, and our furnace fails in the middle of December. This is exactly what happened last year, and it was absolutely miserable. There were no HVAC technicians available to come repair our central heating system, so we had to spend several days without modern temperature control. Let me tell you, as our indoor temperature plummeted he was suddenly very thankful for my cold body, since I had so many blankets and space heaters.
