When you know that you have a major job to do when you get home from work, you tend to dawdle.
I know that I didn’t want to go home when I knew that I would have to leave work and go back to work when I got home.
I don’t think it would have been so bad if I hadn’t known there was a problem with the thermostat for quite some time now. I kept trying to put off the job. I tried to talk to the HVAC company about repairing my thermostat. A thermostat can be quite expensive and I didn’t want to buy a new one if it could be fixed. It was just an old digital thermostat and they said they couldn’t fix it. I guess I was just being stubborn, but I didn’t want to purchase a new thermostat. I knew the temperature reading was off, and I thought maybe it needed to be calibrated, but they wouldn’t do it. Finally, the furnace nor the air conditioning was responding the thermostat. I knew it was time to purchase a new thermostat. I called the HVAC company and asked them about installing a new thermostat. I was hoping that was all that was wrong with the air conditioning. They brought over several types of thermostat and I chose a programmable thermostat for my home. I hated going into that hot, dank house, but I didn’t have a choice. It took them twenty minutes to install the thermostat and within five minutes, the air conditioning had already cooled the house down by almost fifteen degrees.
