The past more than two months I have been laboring overtime non-stop due to being hurricane that passed through about a month ago, then our neighborhood was devastated by this event and several homeowners were in need of our services.
The first month was spent doing major clean-up in several of the homes but once the debris had been removed people needed their Heating and Air Conditioning systems up and running. As power was restored throughout the challenge every one of us worked our way through the homes fixing or replacing as several Heating and Air Conditioning systems as every one of us could, however unfortunately, several of the units were completely destroyed and the homeowners had to purchase new a singles. Our company had localed orders for various styles of units and once they arrived every one of us were tied up making homes comfortable again. I have found the resilience of the people in our community is amazing and they can handle a lot more if they have a cool comfortable locale to sleep at night, no matter how long the morning is, or how much devastation is around them that needs to be fixed, having the ability to take a shower and remain cool and dry at night make facing the next morning a little easier. This has genuinely been a neighbor helping neighbor event and the kindness of others makes this group effort a little easier as well. Our boss just told us that he is going to start rotating us for having mornings off and I am genuinely looking forward to that. Not only do I need a morning to rest but it will also be nice to just spend it with my family and make sure that they realize how much they mean to me.
