It was odd to realize that our furnace wasn’t working.

• We have had the furnace for quite some time and up until now, we had no problems with it.

It was a bit surprising to realize the furnace may have died, because of how reliable it has been. I decided not to wait too long in having the furnace checked. I called our local HVAC company to have them look at it. I was glad when we moved, because it seemed more convenient to have an HVAC company right down the street from where we lived. I called and made an appointment with the HVAC company to come look at my furnace. I never thought that all my inspections and maintenance, and calling the HVAC company when I did, would be one of the smartest things I have ever done. When the HVAC technician arrived to work on my furnace he told me that the furnace could have many different things wrong with it. Since it was an older unit, it was bound to have some problems, but he was going to do all he could to keep it running. Within ten minutes, he came upstairs and told me that had I not called for repairs when I did, it would have been more expensive to repair. He said the possibility of needing to replace our furnace would have been a certainty if we had waited even another week. My furnace is working well now, and I’m sure it will be working for quite some time. I may even get another five or ten years out of the furnace before needing to replace it.
