Need to clean the ductwork afterwards

Nick April 29, 2021

I am remodeling my bathroom and it is a messy, smelly project.

I recently added new drywall and mudded the seams. I am now sanding and mudding and sanding again. I want the seams to be totally smooth and not noticeable when I paint. I am not very optimistic though. I have to keep giving myself a pep talk that I won’t give up part way into the job. I want my bathroom to look brand new and modern. So that means no seams should show. The problem is that I am doing this job in the middle of summer. It is around 85 degrees outside. I have to wear my work gear to do the job since there is dust and debris flying around. I would be so hot if I did not run my cooling system. With the AC on, it makes that horrible job a little more pleasant. However, I am aware that all the dust I create is being sucekd up into my AC device and stored there. So anytime I run the central air conditioner, every room in the house is getting a fine layer of dust because I have ductwork. I really need to get ductwork cleaning and have my HVAC unit totally washed out so that I don’t have gross surfaces anymore. I can’t call a HVAC contractor until my sanding and mudding is done. After that job, I only have painting and a vanity to install. There shouldn’t be any more debris. However, my sanding job is taking a lot longer than expected.
