My girlfriend and I moved into a brand new apartment approximately 2 weeks ago.
- The place isn’t really what we thought it would be.
Then when my girlfriend and I looked at the apartment, we thought we were looking at the apartment that would be our sweet home. Instead, it was a model apartment that is actually better than any other in the building… Our apartment did not look quite as nice as the one that the manager showed us on the Sunday before we moved. It has been extremely problematic to get any work accomplished in the apartment. I called to have the dishwasher fixed just this past weekend, and the maintenance serviceman gave me a certain look when he came to the door. He spent half an hour looking at the dishwasher and then he completely disappeared. When I called to have the AC equipment repair, my girlfriend and I waited 5 hours for the maintenance serviceman to show up. The two of us left the guy alone in the apartment for 5 minutes, while we were out loading groceries. The guy was supposed to be there to service the AC equipment, although he stole my headphones instead. They were sitting on the desk next to the AC equipment. After the maintenance serviceman was gone, I could not find my headphones at all. I’m a little infuriated that my girlfriend and I signed a single-year lease. I would like to leave this place sooner than later. If I can’t trust the manager and the apartment staff, then there is certainly no reason for my girlfriend and I to carry on with residing in this building.
