My sister and I were finally seeing our dreams come to fruition.
Ever since we were about six, all we wanted to do was own a clothing boutique.
We drew designs and made them for our Barbie dolls. When we were in our teens, we made our own clothing and had our own style. We were identical twins but we wanted our own uniqueness to show through. We even made clothing for our friends. It took almost fifteen years before we were able to accomplish our dream. We had to go to college and learn how to run a business. We put every dollar we earned into a bank account. On our twenty-fifth birthday, we signed the contract for our first store. It was actually the top floor of an old department store. There were two apartments and four bathrooms on the floor. We were easily able to put up walls and make work areas and dressing rooms. We also had a large showroom where we could parade models and show off our work. Then we realized we needed heating and air conditioning for the area. Every floor was responsible for their own HVAC. We owned the area, and we were going to do it right. We called the local HVAC company and had them inspect the area. They told us how we could have an HVAC system installed and have it integrated with zone control so the apartments would be separated from the other areas. It was going to be expensive, but our business was picking up and we needed comfort for our customers and ourselves.
