When it came to starting a new business of my own, I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn’t expect it to be this hard. I had already heard before I started my business that most new corporations don’t make it, but I kind of had that mindset that it wouldn’t happen to me. I know now that that was a stupid mindset, and it didn’t take me long to realize I was in trouble. I had only been in the HVAC business for a year when I started experiencing problems. Previously I had been a HVAC specialist, and I really didn’t like that lifestyle. I still loved the HVAC career field, and saw a lot of potential in a heating and cooling company of my own. Since there was always a demand for heating and air conditioning I figured everything would work out just fine. I didn’t take into account the area where I started my business, or even how I was going to advertise my new HVAC company, and that’s where I messed up. My first issue was location. I had created my business in a rural area, because I thought that rural people would need HVAC services. Well it turns out they don’t need HVAC as much as people in the city do, so I had to move. My next biggest mistake is having no idea how to advertise. I knew if I were to advertise I would have to have some form of online marketing. The internet is all over nowadays, so digital marketing was a must. Thankfully, the internet had plenty of helpful guides on how to properly advertise your business, such as Google ads and PPC. If I had any trouble with learning SEO or SEM, then I could always contact a digital marketing company for help.
