Window tinting is energy smart

Window tinting is energy smart

Window tinting is a relatively inexpensive thing that adds value to the home.

I have an older home with ancient windows.

That means that the Low-E rating is poor. It doesn’t protect me at all from sun rays and glares in the house. My home constantly feels a bit overheated. I can’t have rugs or furniture near the windows or they will be discolored. Adding a window tint wasn’t a problem at all. It really solved a whole mess of issues. Window tinting made it so much more energy efficient in the house. I now don’t have to blast the AC all spring and summer long. The added layer of protection keeps the house so much cooler. I can raise the temperature an extra two degrees. So that doesn’t sound like a lot. But that slight raise in temperature on a day to day basis for months, that really adds up. It ends up meaning it saves 100s of dollars. I also noticed that my cooling system has less repairs now. I don’t need to constantly add refrigerant, change the air filter and clean out the cooling coil. The condensate drain doesn’t even clog with algae as much. A window tint isn’t only energy smart, but it looks good too. If you look at the house from the outside, it is a slight color change. My house right now is grey, and the windows look dark grey. I love the look of it and the privacy. It makes me feel so much more secure.
