I didn’t take my business seriously

Nick December 28, 2021

My dad started his own heating and A/C business when he was just 17 years old. Technically it wasn’t a business yet, but it might as well have been because he was completely independent and working as his own boss. He grew that tiny one man HVAC corporation to a massive A/C company within 10 years, and then once he had my siblings and I, he passed it down to me the oldest, and then retired happily. My father had tried to teach some basics about business at that time, but I was too busy partying and having fun to take notes. Anyways, I didn’t take my new business seriously, and because of that, it began to have problems. I started getting a bad reputation around the area, because I slacked off on my responsibilities and I allowed my HVAC employees to do the same. Not only that, but I had a really bad website too. My dad never created a website for the business so I created a cheap free one and used an old email as a form of contact for customers. It wasn’t until I talked to a digital marketing company that they helped turn me and my business around. Apparently my website was one of the main reasons why I wasn’t getting very many customers, because it screamed unprofessional and was sending the wrong message to my customers. My father handled things a lot better, so with his advice and the online marketing business’ help, I started trying to learn proper digital marketing through Google ads and other methods like PPC, SEO and SEM.
