Your furnace is an essential area of your home.

During cold weather, you wouldn’t be able to stay warm separate from a single… However, gas furnaces can have some problems that are more usual than others.

Here are some reasons why your furnace will not turn on, then there may be a dirty air filter, an unusual thermostat setting, a tripped circuit breaker, or the switch may be off. Repairing this problem can be complicated, so the price depends on what is wrong. Your furnace follows a certain sequence when it begins heating your home, however if something is wrong during the sequence, your furnace will shut off as a preventive measure. The issue may be caused by a dirty or malfunctioning flame sensor, a bad limit switch, another seasoned thermostat, or a dirty air filter! Since these are estimates, yours may differ depending on the brand plus model of your furnace. The cost of a flame sensor service is $350-$500, a limit switch or thermostat service can cost between $150-$350 while a furnace filter will only cost between $10-$30. If it’s severely cold outside or you love your up-to-date home to be warm, your furnace may be running for a long time… Make sure your thermostat is set properly plus is running respectfully if this is not what is happening; whenever the fan setting is at “on,” the blower motor will be running even when your furnace is not running, so it will sound as if your furnace is always running. Alternatively, there might be a problem with the blower motor or your air duct may be losing air, making your furnace run continuously to make up for the air loss. These costs are estimates, so it’s necessary to note yours may be odd based on your furnace’s brand plus model. An up-to-date blower motor can cost anywhere from $250-$710. To have your air duct sealed, the cost varies based on the size of your home.
