It’s going to be bittersweet visiting mom’s house later today for dinner because it will be my last visit before leaving for five months overseas.
I may just try to pop over one more time, as I don’t leave for four more days, but I have a lot of things to do before then so I am going to be quite busy.
I think mom is worth carving out some time in my busy day though so I will somehow make it happen. I’m going to miss her and my family but I have to go back overseas. The HVAC company where I work in Europe has been really good to me and I want to keep my job so I need to go back and start working again or they will find a replacement soon. I think my mom is making fish tonight, which is one of my favorite meals, so I am really looking forward to this last meal with my folks. They also have a good climate control system and keep their house very cold during the day, which is very refreshing considering it is about 100 F outside right now. I think they have a newer AC unit because my mom said their power bills are only around $150 per month. They have a smaller house but that is still a good price considering they run the air conditioner at such a cold setting. I think they have an inverter type condenser, which seems to be really efficient, and I think they paid quite a bit of money for it.
