Carsickness and A/C

Carsickness and A/C

My friend Kelly is a pretty cool person that I really enjoy hanging out with. However, she has a few quirks that make certain activities with her not quite as enjoyable as others. For example, my friends and I love to go on road trips. We have been to many amusement parks and national landmarks over the past few years. Kelly has come along with us on a few of these trips. However, It’s become clear that she is not comfortable with long car trips. She will eventually start to get carsick, especially if the surrounding landscape starts to blend together and blur. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad if it were not for her solution to this problem. Eventually, she will insist that the air conditioner be turned off. At that point, we will have to open the windows for fresh air. We take a lot of these trips in the summer, and we live in a hot and humid part of the country, so this can be rather annoying, especially since my vehicle’s air conditioner is so good. Nobody else in our group ever really has his problem. The lack of air conditioner combined with the hot air blasting through the car as we travel down the highway gets old pretty fast. I heard there’s a special armband that a person can wear that activates a certain nerve that can block feelings of nausea, and I think we’re going to need to get Kelly an armband like that before we take our next road trip!
