Dealing with a difficult customer

There is a customer that is a regular at our heating and air conditioning company.

He probably calls our company at least every couple of months. Sometimes he calls just to ask general questions, but other times it is for HVAC services. The main issue with him is the fact that we will tell him our prices for say, HVAC repair, and he will agree to the price. However, after a HVAC worker goes to his home and performs the repair, he suddenly tries to haggle the price. We work at a company, and are not an independent HVAC contractor, there is no haggling here. Yet this guy had the nerve to persist. The worst is when he told us he didn’t have enough money for the agreed upon price, only enough to cover the amount he was trying to haggle us down to. As soon as I told him he could be arrested, he suddenly had the money. I told my boss about it, and she didn’t seem surprised. She told me if he does that again, then he will be banned from using our heating and air conditioning services. I am annoyed by people like this, so much time is wasted on this guy when we could already be moving on to our next paying customer. He actually called yesterday and scheduled for an appointment today. I am the lucky A/C repairman to get to deal with him, so I am quite interested to see how this is going to go down, maybe he has learned his lesson.
