A few weeks ago, while resting in my yard, my a/c cycled on.
And I heard an odd noise coming from the condenser unit that sounded like a piece of metal was loose inside.
So, after hearing the noise, the first thing I did was to turn off the a/c. Once I turned it off, I contacted an actual heating plus A/C provider to schedule an appointment. Luckily, the day wasn’t too hot, plus I was able to use my ceiling fan as an update for the a/c. The professional came to my home the next day to inspect the heating plus A/C unit. Upon inspection, he did not hear any odd noises, in fact, he said everything was functioning well with the unit. He asked me about the noise, plus I explained to him that it was metal clanking, but he found no trace of that. He finally advised that he should do a full inspection plus repair of the unit to which I agreed. After he took care of the heating plus A/C unit, his only recommendation was that it needs to be updated soon due to its age. The central heating plus A/C unit is about 15 years old, plus I barely have any concerns with it. In fact, over the last few years, it simply broke down once when the capacitor malfunctioned. That happened during one of the hottest Summers that we’ve had in years, so I believe the capacitor burned out because of the heat. Either way, I know I will need to update the unit soon; however, for now, until it undoubtedly begins to show signs of decline, I will continue to use the one that I have.
