I often have to travel for work, so I have to leave my family to fend for themselves during those times.

I probably should have known better to be more prepared with certain things, like the HVAC system.

The last time I went traveling for work, I was getting frantic texts from my wife about the heating system experiencing problems. It was the beginning of the winter and it wasn’t too cold yet, but it was cold enough to require the heating system. It certainly wasn’t freezing temperatures yet fortunately. When I was able to get a hold of my wife on the phone, I told her to get a hold of the HVAC company if she hadn’t done that already. I told her it didn’t matter if we had to pay for emergency HVAC repair or not, I would cover the cost. It was my fault that I didn’t call to have the HVAC system tuned up and they probably wouldn’t be in that situation if I had only thought to get that done. So she called for emergency HVAC repairs, and boy did it cost a large amount of money. I was happy that my family was okay though when they were able to get the heating working again. The HVAC worker said there shouldn’t be anymore problems for the rest of the winter, and he reminded my wife to change the air filters regularly. When I returned home, I decided to get a few portable space heaters in case something like this happened again, and I also promised I would stay on top of all the needed HVAC system maintenance and repairs.
