It’s going to be really fun because it is about 100 F outside and the air ducts are located in the hotter attic.
I need to bring a thermometer up there and see how hot this attic is before I crawl up there to do the cleaning job.
I think it is going to take me about five hours to clean all of the AC ductwork and would like it to be as cool as possible so I may need to do this job at night instead because it could be extremely hot up there. I know that there are cooling vents in the soffits and another vent on the ridge of the roof but it still gets really hot up there regardless. The ducts in my parents house have been leaking for a while and are getting worse so they want me to do it pretty soon so that they can get their house cooled down again like it used to be. If it is too hot for me to do then I am going to contact this HVAC company to come out and do it for us. I don’t want to get heat stroke trying to do the cleaning job. I guess the HVAC specialist knows how to clean the ducts and the best time to do it. Maybe they bring a small fan up there with them to keep them cool, I don’t know. Once that is done then I think the HVAC system should be good to go again. I’m sure it isn’t that big of a job, it’s just the heat that makes it tougher to do.
