I knew that I was not going to go to college, even before it came time to put in my application.
I was having a difficult time with high school, so why would I spend four years in college. Right out of high school, I took a job that my father got for me. I was working for a major freight carrier, in their warehouse. I thought I would be working with the freight, but all I was really doing was being a security guard. I spent four years working in that warehouse, regardless of how hot or cold it was in there. Did I forget to tell you that the warehouse didn’t have any heating or air conditioning. If I didn’t let me tell you now. It was so hot during the summer that sometimes you would feel dizzy. I couldn’t even find any air conditioning the bathrooms. During the winter, you tried to not need to go to the bathroom. I swear the water in the toilet was frozen when you went to use it. Within a couple years, I knew that I needed to do something different I couldn’t handle working all night long every night, and not having any heating or air conditioning. I decided to go back to school and get my certification in HVAC. I worked hard during the day and after nearly a year, I graduated with top grades. When I passed my certification test, I went in and gave them my two week notice. I have never looked back. Now I am working in one of the best HVAC companies in the entire area.
