I was shopping for a new A/C device last week.
- Up until now, I had consistently dealt with window Air conditioning units, however I wanted to get a central a/c.
I liked the convenience of being able to just turn on the air conditioning & not need to get the window air conditioner out of the closet & wash it, before being able to use the AC. I was getting too old to need to deal with that. I ran into an overzealous young salesman who wanted to show me every type of A/C device they had in the showroom. I knew exactly what I wanted when it came to a central air conditioning unit. I did all of my hometoil & knew what size I needed & I knew what features I wanted. I tried to tell him that I had the model number in my billfold, even though he kept right on telling me all about every A/C device in the showroom. When he asked me if I was interested in a cooling tower, I just frowned & stared at him. Apparently my frown & stare didn’t stage him like it did my children. They knew I was about to go off on them or get rude with someone. I finally tapped him on the chest & asked him if there was someone in the building who would shut up long enough to talk to me & not at me. I did not want a cooling tower, what I wanted was this A/C unit. I handed the slip of paper & he walked away muttering that he would get someone who could help me.
