Is HVAC school worth the price?

Here goes another question plaguing browser results for HVAC topics.

First and foremost, any education is worth obtaining.

It’s how you go about life after education that determines the true value of your education. Students are misled into believing college or technical training is a guaranteed way to getting a professional career with high earning potential. Nothing could be further from the truth! A degree, certification, and license are merely tickets allowing you to seek out jobs above entry level. If you pay $45,000 to go to school for mechanical engineering, then foolishly wait for an opportunity to come to you, your education was waste. To make your HVAC school become “worthy”, you must take actions that lead you to be employed in HVAC and grow as a technician. HVAC technicians have unlimited earning potential. They will get back what they put in. There’s now an associate’s degree in HVAC technology because of all the new technologies coming out. This can cost $15k to $35k depending on school and location. Getting the associate’s degree of applied science and going to technical school would be ideal at this point. If you have $35k in HVAC student loan debt, can you obtain a job with that education in the HVAC field? Yes! Can you pay off the student loans with reasonable monthly payments if you are responsible? Yes! So is going to HVAC school worth it? Yes! In fact there are incredible opportunities in this field because so much technology is coming out. Maintenance, repairs, replacements, and technology upgrades for radiators, condensers, compressors, ductwork, thermostats, and full systems will never go away. There’s also a large market demanding energy efficiency and HVAC systems are the largest energy consuming appliances in homes.
