Sister fails to check into the credentials of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation who installs A/C

A little over a year ago, our sibling Trisha upgraded her home’s central cooling system! She was all excited about the SEER and Energy Star rating.

  • She was impressed with the manufacturer and the patron reviews! Trisha spent a fortune to get the latest features, including wireless affixivity and variable-speed operation.

She was so certain that her daily electric bill would be split in half and her apartment would be the epitome of comfort. She claimed that this A/C would filter every particle of dust out of the air, and she’d rarely need to vacuum. To hear her talk, her family would never suffer another health problem because of the filtration provided by the A/C, when I asked her about the experience and any guarantees provided by the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation who was handling the replacement, she had no idea. Trisha had chosen the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation from an advertisement in the local paper. She called them, got an estimate and tied up an replacement date. She didn’t take the time to check their rating with the Better Business Bureau or look up patron reviews. She didn’t assume if the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor was an authorized manufacturer’s contractor or if the professionals were NATE-certified, EPA-certified or even licensed and insured. Trisha went ahead and had the A/C installed. She had a lot of complaints with the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C dealer. They showed up late, made a mess of her beach house and took a long time to complete the task. They failed to explain the operation or features of the cooling plan and didn’t help her with warranty registration.
