The A/C was bad for my fish tank

The A/C was bad for my fish tank

I had just got myself a really big fish tank.

Back when I was a kid, I had fish like some of the other kids. Some people like cats, dogs, etc, but I was always a fish person. Getting my new fish tank, I learned something that I never knew all these years, and it was a lesson that i’m glad I didn’t have to learn the hard way! When I bought the tank, and the fish, the sales person asked me if I had air conditioning air vents above where I was going to place the tank. I gave him a sort of confused look and asked him why it mattered if there was air conditioning vents directly above the tank. The salesperson told me that if there was any kind of air conditioning blowing directly down on to the tank, that it could cause some major problems with the temperature control of the water, and that the air conditioning may actually kill the fish! I had never heard such a thing about air conditioning killing fish before. But, the salesperson insisted that this was something that happened to him when he got his very first fish tank. He said that the air conditioning air vents in his home actually killed his fish by making the water freezing cold temperatures. I asked him if the heating system being on would have any effect in the same way, he said that to an extent it may. So, the best thing to do was to make sure the fish tank was nowhere near an air conditioning air vent. I made sure of this when I brought em home!
