If you were to as most people what Christmas is like where they come from, they would most likely tell you that it is one of the happiest times of the year filled with spending time with family. This has always the way it had been in my family up until last year when we had a very uncomfortable start to the Christmas day. It all started when I woke up early in the morning on to find that it was so cold inside I could see my breath. After doing some investigating I ended up discovering that my old heated gas furnace wasn’t working. It makes sense due to how old it is and the way it had been acting as of late, but now my family was forced to deal with a chilly house while I tried to get some help. I ended up making a call to the local HVAC repair company but they were closed for the holidays. We tried to make the most of the day and try to stay warm with other methods and using our mini portable heating and cooling unit, but that didn’t do all that much. Now this year we have had radiant flooring installed into the home and that has helped us tremendously. We have seen our monthly heating and cooling bills lower and we no longer have to stress out about the furnace breaking down during the time of year when we can’t get help. I’m still upset we had to go through that miserable Christmas as a family, but at least we learned from our mistake and made an upgrade.
