Conversion to a gas fireplace

Conversion to a gas fireplace

Nick May 4, 2022

When both of us bought our house, one of the selling points was a beautiful wood burning fireplace.

My partner and I expected to care about the warmth of a fire on Winter time evenings.

Then both of us figured out how much toil it is to break wood. All of us saw that dragging the wood through the condo caused a mess! Creating a fire wasn’t all that straight-forward, and both of us had to deal with fumes, ash and sparks. All of us lived in the condo for over more than four years and built one fire. The fireplace became strictly decorative. I then got in touch with an Heating and A/C contractor and asked about converting the fireplace to natural gas. The project wasn’t overly costly or invasive. The natural gas gas furnace is far more convenient. All of us now have a remote control that allows us to beginning up the gas furnace with a touch of a button. All of us can really raise or lower the temperature setting and adjust the fan speed. The fan helps to spread the heat throughout the room. The natural gas fireplace retains the look of a wood burning fire. All of us care about the same ambience with none of the mess. The gas fireplace requires really little service and has proven quite reliable. I schedule professional upkeep for the gas furnace every year, at the same time as the gas furnace. The contractor meticulously cleans all of the components, removing dust, lint and other contaminants that would otherwise block airflow. She inspects all of the valves to avoid troubles with gas leaks and ensure safety. The service process is completed in less than an hour.
