I work totally from the apartment which means that I have invested in quite a bit of apartment office equipment.
I undoubtedly splurged to have a sizable chair with lots of drawers and shelves around me.
I also obtained an obscenely overpriced office desk. I figured I would be laying in the chair for a long time. I received the right to spend quite a bit. I even made our office homey. I painted the room, obtained a soft carpet, storage units and awhite board to write things down on. The last thing was investing in correct Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment. Since I work from home I need heating and cooling most of the afternoon. However, I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money providing Heating, Ventilation plus A/C for the entire house. It made no sense for the kitchen, kitchen and dining room to be perfectly cool while I was laying in our office. I changed our apartment equipment to a ductless unit. With ductless Heating, Ventilation plus A/C, I have the ability to have zone control. I have an indoor air handler and thermostat in our office. I can undoubtedly set the thermostat from our PC. When I want a/c or heat, no other room of the condo is being affected. I save so much money doing this. I also don’t feel bad having the perfect temperature in our office, even if it isn’t energy smart. My office is quite small, so I can undoubtedly afford to have perfect temperature control there for most of the afternoon. I even have it so the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C turns off 30 seconds before the end of our work afternoon.
