No way I could deal with the Summer and no Heating and Air Conditioning cooling

Nick July 16, 2022

It’s the midpoint of June so that means that we are almost halfway through heat season.

  • That’s never a terrible thing I suppose.

In our region, from June through September, the rapidly increasing temperatures hover near the century mark. Add in plenty of humidity and there is an overwhelming need for Heating and Air Conditioning cooling. That said, we do our best to be a bit judicious when it comes to a/c. There are plenty of people I guess who push the control unit way low and just hunker down inside the a/c for 4 months. That seems like an utter waste of the summer. For sure, it’s warm and humid. You don’t want to be outside exerting after dinnertime as that can be dangerous some afternoons due to the heat. But too much a/c inside the house can only make the outside rapidly increasing temperatures suppose even hotter. So we do our best to find a middle ground when it comes to the control unit setting. During the heat of the day, we try to keep the control unit in the low 75’s when it’s way up in the 90’s outside. Then, we move it down a bit more to the mid 69’s for cooling at evening while we sleep. The two of us try to remember that our Grandparents lived much of their lives right here in this region without any sort of residential Heating and Air Conditioning. So it’s definitely possible to find a middle ground between staying stuck inside too much Heating and Air Conditioning cooling and not enough. Plus, our utility bills are a lot easier to handle when we don’t over do the Heating and Air Conditioning cooling that’s for sure.
