For years our family relied on an outdated boiler program in the basement.
It hooked up to all the baseboards in the home and served as our heater. It was a legitimately great oil furnace in addition to never requiring any repairs; Even without heating service a boiler can live over 50 years old. The boiler was seasoned when I moved and lived for a long time. When it finally died I looked at replacing it with another boiler, however unfortunately the cost of a boiler program is quite high, however you get the program for such a long time in addition to it being a tank. However, you legitimately have to spend to get that system. I cheaped out and have regretted it ever since. I have a gas fireplace in the kitchen that doesn’t work as well. There are cold spots all over the house. When I change a bulb I recognize how warm it is by the ceilings. The heating didn’t extend into the bedroom either. I needed to buy a ventless oil furnace for the bedroom to not have our pipes bursting. For the upstairs I had to get a separate heating program as well. I went from one boiler program to numerous different kinds of heaters. My house is much colder using the numerous oil furnaces too. I think everytime I would have saved money paying upfront for the boiler. Now I am stuck with a few oil furnaces and they aren’t legitimately good. The fireplace takes up a lot of room in addition to the ventless oil furnace taking up a spot where a lower cupboard could go. I also had to dedicate a significant portion of the upstairs to the heater. Nobody can close their door or they don’t get heating either.
