When I obtained our snowbird home I decided I wasn’t going to put much cash in it.
I was just going to paint and keep everything simple.
I like having a tiny kitchen and the ability to scrub our cottage in under an hour. There are certain things that require care and money however. I thought I could keep the modern Heating, Ventilation plus A/C machine going for a long time. The con was the AC keeps icing over. I would take a hairdryer to thaw it every time and scrub the inner workings. After a while it started refusing to turn on. Anytime I had a Heating, Ventilation plus A/C business come over I told them to make the modern system keep on going rather than replace it with new. Finally 1 Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker mentioned that I am spending more money on Heating, Ventilation plus A/C repairs than I would if I just bought a modern unit. He was totally right. It also was stressful dealing with no AC frequently. I finally splurge to get a nice a/c in our little house. To get a nice AC machine for such a small part was hardly any money. Now I don’t need to worry about anything. I adore having a modern machine and a smart thermostat. I have been looking around our condo and debating on remodeling. I could undoubtedly add granite countertops to our kitchen separate from it being much money. I could redo the tile in an hour if I wanted to. There are pros to having such a small home. Why shouldn’t our snowbird condo be a great house?
