At the same time, I do feel like my 12 employees make up a kind of family, so I like to keep them in the loop with major happenings.
After I had retained the services of three local artists, I decided to hold a staff meeting to detail the changes to my crew. They were nervous about taking such a risk, but I assured them it was a smart risk, and had the potential to pay off for everyone. There was a growing trend in HVAC art, mostly from the wealthy and affluent sections of town. These people saw their HVAC systems as status symbols, so everyone wanted to have the best and the nicest. Although my employees are the best at what they do, they are all heating and cooling experts, not artists, which is why I needed to recruit outside talent. These artists would give us the ability to cater the richest and most influential HVAC clients in town, so there was incredible potential for profit. We all came to an agreement, and decided to try this new approach to custom HVAC work for six months, and then have another meeting to evaluate our success or lack thereof. Now we are hard at work making custom HVAC housing, with scrolled sheet metal adorned with fantastic colors and patterns. All we need is a few influential customers to buy our custom HVAC housing, and I’m sure business will start to take off.
