I am quite picky over our environment when I am writing, and that is because I need the most concentration I can get.
I like our environment to be nice and dark, and cool.
I achieve this by mostly writing at evening, and have the a/c running. This creates the dark and quiet surroundings that I need, and it absolutely helps myself and others get into character. I am writing our first novel, and so I need to try our hardest. The character I am writing about decided to become a heating and a/c serviceman. I was originally going to make the character have a cooler job, like a nurse or something, although I felt that was too popular, everyone seems to do that, and so I wanted to go with something a little different. I don’t guess there are numerous characters that are heating and specialists, and so that is why I chose that career field, naturally, this meant that I needed to study about Heating, Ventilation, and A/C technology so that I can have some understanding of what I am writing about. I have really little Heating, Ventilation, and A/C know-how, so I knew that there was going to be a lot that I would have to learn. I started by studying general heating and cooling facts, and the history of air conditioners and heating systems and how they came to be. Then I started studying about more new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment to absolutely try and understand them, lastly, I study on the actual heating serviceman’s experiences as a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repairman, so that way I can make writing our character as authentic as possible.
