A castle deserves a quality HVAC system

A castle deserves a quality HVAC system

My house is my castle, and I am the Queen.

I don’t think I am a bossy person, but I was raised to believe that when someone owns their own home and pays all the bills, that no one else has a right to tell them what to do.

At work, I am a humble employee. At church, I am a quiet parishioner. But when I am at home, I am the Queen and my word is law. My grandchildren were over visiting last weekend, and one of them had the audacity to change the settings on my thermostat. I sat them all down immediately and had a stern but friendly talk to them about never touching my thermostat without my permission. Even if they are dying of heatstroke, they still need to ask me to change the thermostat for them. They are never to lay hands on it! My words did not have the right effect, so I had two options – either I beat some sense into the kids or I found a way to protect the thermostat. The current political climate means that no one is allowed to smack their kids around anymore, and since I don’t want to go to jail I bought a plexiglass lock-box for my thermostat. The lockbox worked out perfectly, because the kids could still see the thermostat readout, but they couldn’t get their grubby little hands on it! Now they have no options, and can never access the thermostat without the key I wear on a chain around my neck. They still deserve a beating, in my opinion.
