Taking a One Year Timeout From Dating Anyone

Taking a One Year Timeout From Dating Anyone

Nick November 7, 2022

Some of my friends here think I am crazy for going on my own for the whole year.

But I feel like I need a lot of time to figure out who I am and what I want now.

I knew who I was – I think I did at least – a few years ago, but I seemed to have changed a bit and now I need to see if I am moving in the right direction. I need some time alone to do this and am now in the tenth month of being on my own. My HVAC equipment writing job keeps me disciplined and regimented, which is good for me because it gives my days a routine and keeps me in reality. I don’t work a full time job at a local business and most of my work is alone in my flat, so if you aren’t careful you can get out of touch with reality pretty quickly. I stay grounded by keeping connected with my friends around me, and by staying healthy and fit with diet and exercise. I also keep my central heating and cooling system clean so that my allergies don’t cloud up my mind. I have three more months to go before I go “back on the market” so to speak, and go out into the dating world again. I meet enough people at the HVAC company to not have to join a dating site online, and also many people through my playing in a band and playing beach volleyball, although the volleyball is going to be limited because summer is gone.
