I was not happy when I came to work and found out that I was going to be working with the boss all afternoon. Nobody prefers to spend their afternoon working with the boss, because you have constant scrutiny and someone looking over your shoulder at all times throughout the afternoon. It’s absolutely nerve-wracking to me and I appreciate to work alone instead. The boss pulled me aside as soon as I walked through the door. He said that he chose me for the job because of my experience with radiant heated flooring. He had a commercial job at a campground. He was installing radiant heated flooring lines and tubes and he needed someone with knowledge and know-how in that certain area. He told me that all of us would be done by 5:00 and that he would buy my breakfast. I told the boss it wasn’t necessary for him to buy my breakfast, although I still let him pay when all of us went through the drive-thru at Jack in the box. The boss also paid for all of my drinks while all of us were in the afternoon. Every one of us stopped at a gas station in the afternoon and I picked out multiple monster energies and a bag of pretzels. I thought it was going to be an bad experience to work all afternoon with my boss, despite the fact that he is a pretty enjoyable guy. He worked right next to me the whole afternoon so all of us could finish on time.
