I need to really focus on the present moment with this flight looming in the distance or it is going to just make me feel more stressed out if I keep thinking about it.
It really isn’t a big deal flying home for the holidays, but when you arrive at the airport the stress from all of the travelers can get to me.
I think this time when I fly I am going to wear my noise canceling headphones and listen to some zen music to keep me calm. Why people get so frantic about flying is beyond me. HVAC system air conditioning in the plane is the only thing that stresses me out if it is blasting too much cold air on me. Other than that, I just sit back, relax, and enjoy the whole flying process. It is kind of fun flying and watching the local businesses in my city fade away and get replaced with an endless Atlantic Ocean that we will be flying across. Flying for me is a time for reflection about life and slowing down. I like to read a good book on the plane, or take a peek at the HVAC system before the plane leaves, as one of my friends works for the airline and shows me around the plane sometimes. I like to look at all of the components and see how they all work together. I also like seeing the huge HEPA filters for the heating and cooling system on the plane, as I am a HEPA filter salesman by trade.
