We have been dealing with those old oil space heaters which seem to take eons to heat up.
I would plug them in and it seemed like it was hours before they got warm enough to heat up a bathroom.
Well, now things are a bit different here and life is looking a lot warmer and brighter now. We got a central HVAC system installed last week and the thing really belts the heat out on a cold day. I think the unit warms up the whole flat in less than 20 minutes, which is night and day compared to what we had before it was installed. I like space heaters because you can just heat up one room at a time, but this HVAC system has zone control heating and cooling so it does the same as the small space heaters but much faster. My landlord paid for the whole system and I am hoping he doesn’t turn around and raise our rent in a few months to help pay for the units. I’ve done a lot of work on this building for him as I was a local contractor for many years and pretty much can fix anything around the building. I just don’t get into electrical stuff too much as I was once shocked by 440 volts one day while working on a commercial A/C system for a customer. You don’t need three cups of coffee to wake up in the morning, just touch your finger on a 440 volt wire on accident and you will be wide awake all day!
