Again the HOA dug in their heels insisting that I replace the HVAC equipment

My HVAC is something that is precious to me. So when we purchased this home, we replaced the old HVAC unit with the best HVAC technology we could find. The seller didn’t want to budge when it came to replacing the HVAC equipment. But that fact ended up being a good thing for us when it came to the final price on the house. We ended up negotiating a fair amount off the final price and used that to get the best HVAC equipment we could. It’s been fifteen years now and some of that HVAC equipment has been sitting in the sun for all those years. And of course this is going to have an effect on the shade of green it once was. This kind of sun can simply peel paint right off of cars and other stuff. So it was not at all shocking that the HVAC cabinet outside my house faded a good bit. However, I was shocked by the reaction of our HOA. They began threatening me with fines and possible litigation if I didn’t replace the HVAC equipment. Of course that’s insane. I’m not replacing anything that’s working. And due to the fact that this HVAC equipment is some of the best, it’s not even halfway through its life. I responded to the HOA by offering to have the HVAC painted. That wasn’t good enough. So I suggested I could plant a shrub or something like that so it would be blocked from sight. Again the HOA dug in their heels insisting that I replace the HVAC equipment. That’s when I turned it all over to my wife. She’s a lawyer and just loves to bury chumps like this.
