As a child, I remember it getting pretty hot where I come from in the south.
In summer the thermometers could easily reach 40 degrees celsius, that’s why we always went to the beach during that period, to cool down by the sea.
We had a flat I used to share with my cousins, which included a playground and a pool. We had so much fun together! Each year, my grandparents from the north would fly down to visit us during the Easter holidays, but they were not used to such a hot climate, so it was lucky that we had an air conditioner in the flat. Otherwise, it would have probably been too unbearable for them to be able to stay with us. One year they came to visit and they went through a terrible time. The air conditioner broke down and it was reportedly the hottest spring in 20 years. The HVAC technician was nowhere to be found, even though we tried to get in contact with him many times. My grandmother was starting to pant and getting dangerously red in the face. We urgently needed to get the air conditioner repaired, and it was a good job my Grandfather used to do HVAC installations. It was hard work, but with perseverance, he managed to finally get the air conditioner repaired. My Grandmother started cooling down and we no longer had to put up with the scorching heat, so we celebrated with delicious ice cream!
