Last night I went to an oriental restaurant with my best friend. We were very hungry and cold, so we were really looking forward to being inside a cozy little room. We sat down by the windows and ordered the wine. We sipped the delicious red wine happily while we scanned through the menu to see what kind of dishes they had to offer. I chose chicken curry noodles, a bowl of vegetable soup, a bowl of rice, and spring rolls. My friend chose sweet and sour pork with fried rice, spicy soup and prawn crackers. While we waited for the food to be served, we felt that the heating was turned on too high. We thought they must have erroneously programmed their HVAC system. We told one of the waiters about the unusual heat before he went to check the heater. Then, suddenly we noticed smoke coming from the kitchen and quickly ran to the kitchen to see what was happening. Smoke and intense heat was coming from the oven. All the cooks had sweat pouring down their faces and it didn’t help that the fan had broken down in the AC unit. Soon after, an HVAC technician came in and looked to see what was the problem. It took him a while until he discovered one of the main components in the oven had overheated and was heating up the kitchen to dangerous levels. He managed to fix the problem and also the fault in the AC unit. In the end, what was supposed to be a nice and pleasant evening turned out to be a very stressful time.
