What is the meaning and purpose of life? Is it to spend time around your loved ones or is it to find your passion and chase it no matter where it leads you? This is the dilemma I have been facing for the past few years as I live overseas and my family and friends die without me there.
- I’ve lost my father, a few good friends, and now possibly my uncle while I am over in Europe trying to make an impact in this world with my music.
I could go back home and help my new contractor buddy doing dual fuel system sales and give up my dreams of playing music for the rest of my life, but would I be happy? I think my mom is who I miss the most, and one day she won’t answer my phone calls ever again. My dad ran a local business and made a pile of money selling HVAC systems and helping people with their heating and cooling issues, but I wonder if he was even happy. I feel the most joy when I am playing music with my bandmate, and I wonder how I would feel if I left it behind me. But I also feel joy seeing my mom for dinner next to their heating and cooling system keeping us all cozy while we talk about life and the world of HVAC technology. I don’t know what I should do, but for now I am overseas doing what I love and having some fun in the process. I guess life will guide me.
