It is always annoying to find out that your heated air is not going into your home as it is supposed to, it is instead going outside.
I thought it looked like my HVAC bills were steadily increasing, and I couldn’t figure out why.
I have my thermostat programmed, and it has been the same for many years, nothing has changed, so why are my bills suddenly going up? Well, thankfully it wasn’t that difficult to find out. I called an independent cooling A/C contractor, and he told me it was a ductwork problem and that I would need ductwork sealing. The air ducts, being older, had gotten some minor holes in them. I was amazed at how fast he figured that out, he barely looked at my ductwork. But I trusted his word, and so I had my ductwork sealed. After he left, I resumed my heating and cooling plans, and he was right, that must have been the issue, because not only did my home heat up and cool down much quicker, but my A/C bill was much nicer to look at by the end of the month. I am glad that I got that figured out fairly early, otherwise I would have kept paying more and more money with my home not even being properly heated or cooled. Not to mention the wear and tear that would be on my furnace system and cooling machine. Either way, it is a problem of the past now, and finally my home feels comfortable and easy to heat and cool as it is supposed to be.
