I’m looking at my buddha sign in front of me on the wall, telling me to not dwell in the past or dream of the future, but to concentrate the mind on the present moment.
It is not an easy thing to do however, and I am always trying to work on it each day with a meditation session. I dream of a better future though, one which has me in love again with someone I really want to be with and living in a place where I am happy to be living. Running an HVAC business back home is what I used to do, but I grew tired of ductwork sealing jobs and installing air purifiers in homes and offices, so I left it all behind and moved overseas where I am living now. I really miss my family and friends though and I dream about what it would be like to be back home around the people I care about most. I work here overseas selling washable filters and doing a/c repair while playing in a band, which is the reason I moved over here in the first place. I hope to get the band going to the point where we are traveling around and doing shows for money, which to me is a really fun life. I just want to see my mom before she gets too old, and being here overseas makes that a difficult thing to do. I guess I could go back and work for the local contractor back home but then my dreams would be gone.
