When I was younger I thought that by now things would have been different.
I imagined a society with flying cars, personal robots that do everything for you, and climatized suits. But instead, all we have are just a few devices that clean our floors, play music or mash up food. I thought we would have made much more progress. Because of my job, I often travel and thought that it would be nice if somehow there was an intelligent thermostat available in the market that I could use to program my HVAC with my smartphone. That way, by the time I arrive at my house it is the right temperature. There is nothing worse than getting back from work to a cold house. I do have central heating at home, but it takes a long time to warm up the house, I was amazed when I found one of these devices available in the market, turns out they have had programmable thermostats for years. I called my HVAC technician to see if it would be possible to use the thermostat with my current HVAC system. He said there shouldn’t be a problem and that the thermostat will be connected to my WIFI and be controlled with my smartphone. Now, this is what I’m talking about! Now I feel more optimistic about modern day technological advances, after all, what is the point of having an expensive HVAC if every time you arrive at your house when the temperature is not what you want it to be?
