I’ve been taking cold showers for a few days now and am ready for some hot water again.
I like taking my cold sea swim, but coming home to a hot bath is so nice, and pretty much necessary to get my body temp back to where it should be. I’ve been using my little water boiler in the kitchen and filling up the sink with warm water so that I can soak my hands and feet in it to warm them up. I guess I could do this for a few more days but I will need a hot water heater to wash dishes and wash clothes soon. My flatmate is not so keen on cold showers, as it is still winter and the cold water is really cold. I am an HVAC tech myself and could fix the gas water heater but I don’t have a lot of time to do so, so I am hoping the heating and cooling expert can get out here and fix the thing for a good price. I think maybe my landlord would split the cost with me if it was really expensive, but hopefully it is just the element that needs to be replaced. I will check out the price of a heating element for my brand of hot water heater to see what I could do it for, as I am a certified HVAC tech still and don’t mind doing the work as long as I have the right tools. My friend may also have some tools because he is a maintenance man for our building.
