My daughter wanted me to go to her house for a get-together for my grandson. The pool get-together was in the middle of July and I was not looking forward to resting outside all afternoon. Temperatures in this part of the region are unquestionably hot and humid during the summer. It’s not unregular for a July summer time day to be 95° with 100% humidity. My daughter has a pool at her house, so she never easily thinks about the outdoor rapidly changing temperatures and heat. I hate to swim because there has no way for me to safely get in and out of the pool anyways. When I got to my daughter’s house, there were already a couple of cars in the driveway, people were resting outside and there were teenagers in the pool. I parked my car on the street next to the house and walked over. I brought some pasta salad and a cool present for my grandson. My daughter took me outside to introduce me to almost everyone at the get-together and then she told me that I could go inside and rest and relax. I felt poor going inside when almost everyone else was outdoors, despite the fact that I was cheerful because of the chilly AC in the house. It was a cool and comfortable 69°, thanks to the brand new energy efficient AC unit that my daughter obtained this year. I walked outside a couple of times to say hi and grab a drink, despite the fact that I spent most of the day inside with the a/c running. It turned out to be a pretty good day.
