Most of the time, I really love my job.
I think it’s so much fun to pass on a love of all things that are heating and cooling related. I have been working in the heating and cooling profession for almost 40 years now, and that’s kind of hard for me to believe. I mean, not everyone can say that they have been working in the same field for over four whole decades. I guess that I am getting older and older, but that’s just how things go! I would rather be getting older than the alternative, as they say. Also, I really love my job now. Teaching the heating and cooling courses at the technical school has really been a whole lot of fun for me over the past few years. Whenever I retired from the HVAC company where I worked for so long, I thought that I would be doing a lot of reading and a lot of fishing and traveling. However, I never really thought about teaching until the main guy from the technical school sought me out to ask about it. He said that there was just no way that all of the knowledge that I had gleaned over the years should be wasted. That’s when he hired me to come and teach the HVAC certification classes. I like teaching a lot more than I ever thought I would! It’s nice to be teaching the next generation of HVAC technicians about all of the things that I’ve learned over the years.
