We lived in the mountains, and there were genuinely few roads that were black topped… Most of our homes were in fields, and the roads were still dirt roads, and there was dust all over, and the air often odored of manure, and before my baby was born, I waned an air cleaner installed in the house.
My fiance told me to buy a portable air cleaner for the baby’s room, although he wasn’t going to be in his living room all the time! He would spend time in other parts of the home so he could be where I was! I wanted a whole-condo air cleaner installed before the baby was born. He said it wasn’t going to happen, but it was wrong, even if I had to pay for it, it was going to happen. I wanted an air cleaner that was more than a HEPA air filter. I wanted a UV light, and a backup air filter to capture what the first air filter didn’t. I didn’t want my baby’s lungs to be filled with dust and dirt. I didn’t want him to odor the manure or other odors that were in the house. He looked at me when I brought up the subject of the air cleaner, for a second time. He asked if I wanted him to have the HVAC duct cleaned too. I thought that would also be nice, and I told him so, however we lived in the home for almost eight years now, and the HVAC duct had never been cleaned. I called the Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier when he left for work. I wanted the HVAC duct cleaned and an air cleaner installed.
