Face masks are good for outdoors where I can't use an air purifier

I have gotten sick a lot over the years since I was a little kid.

  • I remember getting head colds a lot when I was in elementary school and missed classes more than many of the other students I went to school with.

It was really frustrating when I would miss class on days when there were field trips. It also frustrated me when I fell behind in physical activities like sports. I had asthma from a really young age and it made me sicker than most kids were when they would get things like bronchitis or basic head colds. I hated having to use inhalers and nasal sprays when I was at school and in front of other students. You can imagine the kind of teasing I got whenever I pulled out an inhaler, especially since I also had glasses at the time. When covid rolled around I actually didn’t hate wearing a mask everywhere I went. Aside from feeling safe against airborne illnesses, I was also protected from airborne allergens when I was outdoors. That’s why I still like to wear a face mask when I’m outside because I can’t use an air purifier when I’m just walking from my car to my office for instance. I’m exposed to all of the pollen and mold spores in the air and they can get directly into my lungs and wreak havoc on my respiratory health. These masks are a lifesaver for me and definitely lessen my allergy symptoms when I’m not at home and using an air purifier instead.
