When my wife plus I moved into our house, the HVAC system was brand new.
My buddy and I had the paperwork from the HVAC supplier that included the warranty, plus the date the boiler plus air conditioner unit were installed.
My wife called to make sure the paperwork was right, plus then she signed the paperwork for our home. She didn’t want to get duped into thinking our HVAC system was new, when the modern HVAC device was installed into the home the past owners lived in. The only thing that wasn’t substituted was the air duct! When we had our inspections done, the HVAC inspector told us it was an excellent HVAC system, but the air duct was disgusting. She told us we needed to have the air duct substituted within the next year. She pointed out the rust plus where there were many small holes plus cracks near where the rust was. She didn’t want to poke the rust, because she was afraid of creating another hole, or worse, making a hole already present too huge to be repaired. She made an appointment with the air duct cleaners to clean the air duct, plus seal the cracks plus holes already in the air duct. She said this was a temporary fix, plus we needed to start considering our options for modern air duct. My wife’s mouth dropped open, plus I was devastated. I asked if it would be cheaper if we obtained flexpipe air duct. She said it would, plus it would be more convenient to not have the metal air duct hanging all over. It was still going to be extravagant, even if it was cheaper.
